Naperville firm wins Four Telly Awards
Outstanding commercials, videos, films, and Internet work
honored from record breaking pool of entries
(Naperville, IL – October 7, 2007) Naperville’s own, Wheatland OmniMedia has been awarded four Telly Awards. The 28th Annual Telly Awards honor outstanding commercials, videos, films and Internet work. With a record 14,362 entries from all 50 states and around the world, this year’s competition has been the most competitive and successful in the long history of the Telly Awards.
Wheatland OmniMedia was selected as a winner of two Silver Telly awards for Film and Video. Less than 10% of entries are chosen as Winners of a Silver Telly, the highest honor. Wheatland won for their videos, Therapy Dogs, produced for the Naperville Humane Society, and Walking the Trail, a photo-ethnography film documenting the photos homeless men took when they were given cameras. Additionally, Wheatland won two Bronze Telly awards for outstanding work for Janice Borla Jazz Camp, edited by Justin Fathi, and Orfeo, a music video featuring Joel Cummins of the band Umphrey’s McGee.
Wheatland was honored among other competitors including: Warner Brothers, Harpo Studios, Sci Fi Channel, Young & Rubicam, Fox News Channel, McDonald’s Corporation and NBC Universal.
Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest film and video productions, and groundbreaking web commercials, videos and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments.
